Mobile Legends betting: what it is
Mobile Legends betting means wagering on professional matches of MLBB (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang), the mobile MOBA from Moonton. The game is played on phones, but its pro scene is huge: in Indonesia and the Philippines, MLBB matches attract millions of viewers. MLBB is also very popular with young players in many other countries — so we want to stress it: betting is for adults aged 18+ only.
The game structure is similar to Dota 2 and LoL: five heroes per side, three lanes, towers and neutral objectives. But games are much shorter — usually 12–20 minutes — and the pace is faster.
The MPL scene and tournaments
The backbone of professional MLBB is the regional MPL (Mobile Legends Professional League) system: leagues in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and other countries. After the league seasons, the strongest teams qualify for international events — MSC and the year-end M-Series world championship. Exact dates and formats are announced each season.

MLBB betting markets
- Match winner — series are often BO3, with BO5 or BO7 in the playoffs.
- Map (game) handicap — for example the favourite at -1.5.
- First Lord — the most important objective in MLBB, similar to Baron in LoL.
- First Turtle — an early-game objective that gives the team gold and experience.
- Total kills and game duration — in a fast meta there are more kills and shorter games.
- First blood and first tower — quickly settled markets that are sensitive to randomness.
What to look at when analysing
There are fewer MLBB stats sources than for other games, but Liquipedia has rosters, results and tournament brackets. Official MPL broadcasts and their analysis shows are useful too. Check the following: the team's form over recent weeks, roster changes (there are lots of transfers between MPL seasons), the meta on the new patch and the team's Lord control rate.

The MLBB meta and patches
Moonton regularly rebalances heroes, adds new ones and occasionally changes map objectives as well. For several weeks after a patch, teams test new strategies and results are unstable. During that period, backing favourites at low odds is especially risky.
- Track which heroes are banned most in pro matches — it is the clearest indicator of the meta.
- A team's jungler and roamer play the key role in Lord and Turtle control.
- In a fast meta, game duration shortens and kill counts go up.
Another factor is BO5 and BO7 series. In long series teams can adjust their drafts, so the stronger and more experienced team usually comes out on top. In a short BO3, though, one failed draft can decide the whole series. So always check the series format before betting and don't put too much faith in a BO3 favourite. At international events, also remember that teams from different MPL leagues have noticeably different playstyles.
